Parking when visiting our home at Smyrna

As well as public transport services

Parking, no matter where you live or visit, when it comes to residential areas, is always an issue.

We are situated in a residential areas, therefore, we mist be mindful of our neighbours at all times. Parking is first come, first served, must be in appropriate / lawful parking areas and owners of vehicles must be mindful of the residents at all times.

Smyrna Parking

Residential car park:
There is a residential car park to the south of the building. This is adjacent to the side / accessible entrance. When using this car park, please park in designated bays only and practice considerate parking. Do not block in other vehicles in, even it is for a moment, you will be asked to move.

The yellow hatched area by the ramp / side entrance to Smyrna must be kept clear at all times as this is a fire exit, an accessible entrance for those that need it to be and an easy entry for everyone. The front steps can be a bit of a challenge, even for able-bodies people.

The red hatched area you can see must be kept clear at all times. Parking is not permitted in these areas.

On-street parking:
There are spaces with no double yellow lines in close proximity of the building as well as on the street where the main entrance is on Aberfan Road. You will also find on-street parking further south of the venue opposite Walters Terrace.

Accessible parking:
There are no specific accessible parking areas that serve our neighbours or Smyrna.

Public transport:

Bus stops:
Smyrna is serviced by bus number 81 from the Merthyr Tydfil main bus station, with a bus stop at the opposite end of the car park. There is also a bus stop further north near the Wye Fish bar.

Train station:
Merthyr Vale train station is the closest to Smyrna. Visit Trainline for live train running times, accessibility and facility information.
There are a number of routes you can take to walk from the train station. 

No Smoking

Smoking & Vaping Policy

It is illegal to smoke on the premises. Vaping is also not permitted.

Smokers are asked to not smoke near the doors or on the main street and to dispose of any cigarettes butts appropriately.

Staff at the venue ask that you bring your own portable ashtray and refrain from discarding cigarette ends on the floor and unlawfully littering.

Staff members do not enjoy walking around the car park picking up cigarette ends.

Whilst attending the Smyrna venue as a patron or guest, we expect a certain level of behaviour. We expect anyone attending Smyrna to be respectful at all times.

Anti social behaviour by anyone attending the venue directed at staff, neighbours, local residents or the general public will not be tolerated.
