Ynysowen Events & Socials are looking for committee members.

Taff Rocks is supporting Ynysowen Events and Socials [YES] with the advertising of this opportunity to become involved in community events and activities.

We are looking for members of our communities who are interested in being part of a growing constituted non-profit group that co-ordinates and creates events in the communities of Aberfan, Merthyr Vale and Mount Pleasant as well as advertising other groups and organisations events on social media.

YES has had the privilege of supporting our community with obtaining funding for the Christmas lights, the summer carnivals and the recent Christmas Crafter's Market and Celebrations. We work in collaboration with various other groups, charities and organisations in Merthyr Tydfil.

The group meets online on a monthly basis to discuss ongoing YES events as well as new ones and are looking for new members to join. If you:

Can attend at least six of the 12 meetings per year, up to two hours per month online, mostly from 6pm - Essential
Enjoy event planning as part of a team - Essential
Have access to Microsoft Teams (free version available) - Essential
Have knowledge and skills of financial management - Desirable
Enjoy volunteering at community events - Desirable
Enjoy working with others to a collective goal by deadlines - Essential
Are able to multitask - Desirable
Can work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative - Essential
Have access to social media - Desirable
